The Grand Combin in the evening sun

The glacier world in the Combin massif is breathtaking, the ascents sensational and the descents lead through perfect ski terrain. Various ski tour peaks around the mighty 4000 metre Grand Combin await our ascent. Our accommodation, the Cabane Panossièreis modern and is well located above the "Glacier de Corbassiere". The high mountain world around the Cabane Panossiere in the Combin massif is deserted and offers many circular tours with beautiful downhill variants. All tours lead over the large glacier in the middle of the mighty glaciers of Glacier de Corbassière, Glacier du Grand Combin and Glacier de Boveir.

Touring days in this region of Switzerland often feel like a short trip abroad. Arriving in Sembracher, you immediately feel the openness of the people, the unknown mountains together with the Mediterranean vegetation create a great climate for enjoyment and active relaxation!

After greeting each other in Chables, we take a taxi down into the val de Bagnes. Our taxi driver is a local and takes us as high as he can, and as soon as there is enough snow we climb further up on our touring skis. We reach our destination for the day, a small pass at around 2700 metres, at a leisurely pace. This passage gives us access to Corbassière, after a short descent we reach the Glacier de Corbassière and can already see our accommodation, the Cabane Panossière.

We enjoy arriving and getting our bearings. Together we decide which tours we will go on over the next few days. One thing is certain: the tours will be exciting, beautiful and eventful. Possible tour destinations are

    • Tournelon Blanc
    • Combin de Corbassière
    • Petit Combin
    • Combin de Boveir
    • Combin du Meitin

Depending on the conditions, there are different final tours on the last day. Some lead back to the val de Bagne, others to the Grand St Bernard. We decide where and how we will spend the final day based on the information and experience we have gathered during the tours.
