Entry into the world of the 4,000 metre peaks | Allalinhorn | Mountaineering course with application tours with a mountain guide
Learn the craft of mountaineering on and around the 4000 metre peaks of Saas-Fee, between mighty glaciers and high alpine scenery.
Have you always wanted to climb high mountains over large glaciers? The high tour course around Saas Fee is the perfect introduction to the magnificent mountain world of the 4000 metre peaks. During these 3 days, we learn and experience how to go on high-altitude tours and what to look out for. We learn how to behave on glaciers and techniques for easy rocky ridges. We will be travelling with you in an empathetic and modern way and teach you the craft of alpine touring. Thanks to the Saas Fee mountain railway, we can travel in comfort. We spend the night in the beautiful and superbly managed Britannia hut with a magnificent sunrise. On the first day, we have great opportunities to practise and consolidate our rock climbing techniques. The next day we continue with ice training. We learn how to walk with crampons and how to behave on the glacier on a short tour towards the Fluchthorn. We are out and about on an impressive glacier and can put what we have learnt into practice. On the last day, we go on a beautiful tour with everything that belongs to mountaineering: we cross the Allalinhorn. Here we can discuss the remaining topics and consolidate and repeat what we have learnt. Thanks to the mountain railway, our descent is shortened. After these days you will be fit for various alpine tours and will already have a great experience to remember!

Today we'll put everything we've learnt in the last few days into practice. If it suits the group and the conditions, we climb over the Hohlaubgrat ridge to the Allalinhorn (4027 m). The approach leads us over glaciers and firn fields to the start of the ridge. A varied ascent over snow and rock awaits us there. In the centre of the ridge, we overcome a short climbing section secured with chains - an exciting but easily manageable section. After this key section, the path leads us on to the impressive summit at over 4000 metres.
Daily destination: Applying everything learnt, short inputs on topics arising during the tour.
The descent is leisurely via the normal route (north flank) back to Mittelallalin. From there, the railway takes us comfortably back to Saas Fee.
